1. Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how FixLoupe ("FixLoupe", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use the FixLoupe mobile apps, website, and related services (the "Service"). It applies to Homeowners, Providers, and visitors. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here. This policy is incorporated into our Terms & Conditions.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account & profile: name, email address, phone number, password, role, and (for Providers) business name, address, licensing, and service details.
  • Service requests: the property address or service location, descriptions of the issue, scheduling preferences, and budget.
  • Photos & media: images or video you upload to describe a job (for example, photos of damage to be restored).
  • Communications: messages, reviews, ratings, and support requests.
  • Payment-related data: where payments are facilitated, limited transaction details. Full card data is handled by our payment processor, not stored by us.

Information collected automatically

  • Device & usage data: device model, operating system, app version, IP address, identifiers, log data, and how you interact with the Service.
  • Approximate and precise location: with your permission, we may use your device location to show nearby Providers and to set the service location. You can control location access in your device settings.
  • Cookies & similar technologies: on our website, to remember preferences and measure usage.

Information from third parties

We may receive information from authentication providers (e.g., when you sign in with a third-party account), analytics providers, and Providers you interact with.

3. How we use information

  • to create and manage your account and authenticate you;
  • to operate the marketplace — matching Homeowners with Providers, routing Leads, and enabling quotes, bookings, and communication;
  • to process and facilitate payments where applicable;
  • to provide customer support and respond to your requests;
  • to send service-related and, where permitted, marketing communications and push notifications;
  • to maintain safety and security, detect and prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our terms;
  • to analyze and improve the Service and develop new features; and
  • to comply with legal obligations.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as described below:

  • With Providers: when you submit a Lead or contact a Provider, we share the details needed to respond (such as your name, service location, request description, and relevant photos).
  • With Homeowners: Provider profile and contact details are shared so Homeowners can evaluate and reach them.
  • Service providers / processors: vendors that host our infrastructure, send communications, process payments, or provide analytics, acting on our instructions.
  • Legal & safety: when required by law, to respond to legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of FixLoupe, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

5. Third-party services we use

The Service relies on trusted third-party platforms, which may include Google Firebase (authentication, database, storage, and hosting), Google Cloud, analytics tools, and a payment processor. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. Your interactions with third-party links or services are governed by their privacy policies.

6. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it. Some information may persist in backups for a limited period before being overwritten.

7. Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure cloud infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • access, correct, or update your personal information;
  • request deletion of your personal information;
  • object to or restrict certain processing;
  • request a portable copy of your data; and
  • withdraw consent (for example, by disabling location or notification permissions).

You can exercise many of these rights directly in the app's account settings, or by contacting us at support@fixloupe.org. We will respond consistent with applicable law and may need to verify your identity.

9. Deleting your account and data

You can request deletion of your FixLoupe account and associated personal data at any time:

  1. In the app: open Account & Settings, then choose Delete account and confirm; or
  2. By email: write to support@fixloupe.org from the email address on your account with the subject "Delete my account".

When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information, except for information we are required or permitted to retain by law (such as transaction records for tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes). Residual copies may remain in backups for a limited period before being overwritten. Content you shared publicly or with a Provider may persist with that Provider.

10. Location data

With your permission, the app may access your device location to find nearby Providers and set your service location. You can grant or revoke this permission at any time through your device settings. Revoking location access may limit certain features.

11. Push notifications and communications

We may send push notifications and emails about your Leads, bookings, and account. You can opt out of push notifications in your device settings and unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in those emails. We may still send essential service messages.

12. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. U.S. state and regional privacy rights

If you are a resident of California or another U.S. state with comprehensive privacy laws, you may have additional rights, including the rights to know, access, delete, and correct your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below; we will not discriminate against you for doing so.

14. International data transfers

FixLoupe is operated from the United States, and your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
